The world today is changing at such an accelerated rate and we as an educationists need to pause and reflect on the entire system of education. The initial step related to it has been taken by our Prime Minister by introducing New Education Policy. According to which the especially designed curriculum refers to emphasize the acquisition of knowledge, skills, critical thinking, and problem solving abilities. The skills of the future and for the future, will have to be imparted to the students and for this education should be relevant, accountable, and child centric. We need to teach them the skills to learn to articulate their thoughts.
In Swami Sahajanand Bridgeford School, I have planted the seeds of the institution with the help of parents, management and well wishers and have seen it growing for last four years, beyond my vision. Here, we make the students learn how to unlearn few things like past failure, emotional entanglements, unwanted data etc. and learn new skills through flexible, multifaceted, inquiry based learning. The new generation needs to develop skills for assertive communication as being skillful is as important as being educated. Self regulation is one of the most important life skills to teach and students who master self regulation become masters of their learning with excellent critical thinking and can make healthier choice.
I firmly believe that the key differentiation that matters is the ethos of an institution. In Swami Sahajanand Bridgeford School, students can feel it when they are engaged with teachers who are focused on shaping their minds and creating thinkers.
