Gandhi Jayanti
“Be the change that you wish to see in the world”
2nd October i.e Gandhi Jayanti is observed by the entire nation to commemorate the birth anniversary of the father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Our students too celebrated Bapu’s 151th birth anniversary virtually this year with zeal, enthusiasm and a patriotic feeling on 1st October 2021. The programme commenced with Bapu’s favourite hymns, ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’ and ‘Vaishnav Jan To Tene Kahiye’.Children dressed as Bapu spoke on his belief and ideas of to be truthful,to be honest & non- violence. A brief introduction of Gandhiji and his role in achieving freedom for India was given by teachers to the children. This was followed by class activities, where our tiny tots made three wise monkeys referred to the three rules to follow which teach us- *“See no evil🙈, hear no evil🙉 and speak no evil🙊”* and also made ‘Charkhas’ with ice cream sticks, spectacle, and stick guided along by their teachers. The programme concluded with a timeless hymn, loved by Bapu..At our school, we attempt to encourage the shy children to participate in the activities, with wonderful results.
